Hygiene Kits for Haiti

After the recent earthquake in Haiti, many St. Timothy parishioners donated money to Trinity Hope and other charities to assist the relief efforts. Now WELCA is joining with the Southeastern Synod and Lutheran World Relief (LWR) in preparing and sending Hygiene Kits to Haiti. If you’re looking for a hands-on way to help or a “teachable moment” for your family, here’s your opportunity to participate. For more information click here.

Kroger Card Program

WELCA Scholarship

WELCA will once again award a $500 scholarship in honor and recognition of one of our own deserving youth. This year, the scholarship will be awarded at a service in early May 2010. This scholarship is available to ANY of our St. Timothy youth attending college in fall 2010 regardless of year. (Freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate level)

Submit a typed application with the following information:

1. Name, address, phone number, college or school attending, and status as of fall 2009 and major, if declared.

2. Describe your participation at St. Timothy’s (confirmation, volunteer work etc.)

3. Answer the following in essay format:

The Women of WELCA strive to make a difference in the world because God has made a difference in our lives. How has God blessed you with gifts and talents and how will you use them to make a difference in the world. What has your time and experience at St. Timothy’s taught you about this type of stewardship and vocational choice?

Applications are due in the church office by April 15, 2010. Applications may be submitted to the church office OR to Box 120 OR e-mailed to Rosemary Hoffman. They may also be mailed to Rosemary Hoffman, 459 Bay Point Drive, Gallatin, TN 37066.

The Scholarship Review Committee will consist of Matt Steinhauer, Director of Christian Education and Family Life, Rosemary Hoffman, WELCA President, and Kaye Palmer, WELCA Past President.
