Our Mission Statement

St. Timothy Lutheran Church is a community claimed in baptism, gathered in worship, and sent in service for the sake of the world.

The vision of St. Timothy Lutheran Church is to be a diverse Christian community actively preparing all to do God’s work.

Our Purpose - A Community in Faith

Our purpose is to invite and support all people in their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and to promote growth as a Community in Faith.

A brief history of St. Timothy

St. Timothy Lutheran Church Our first worship service was held on September 18, 1964 at Nannie Berry Elementary School in Hendersonville. In June of 1965, the building site at our present location was purchased, and the first worship in the new church was held on September 29, 1968.

In May 1979 the Education Wing and Fellowship Hall were constructed.

As our church grew, a larger sanctuary was required. In December 1994 the congregation celebrated the "Burning of the Mortgage" for the first church and began design of a new and larger sanctuary.

Three years later, on January 25, 1998, the first service was held in the new sanctuary; the official dedication ceremony was held on April 26, 1998.

Today, the old sanctuary has been put to good use as Jonah's Landing, the starting point for our weekly Sunday School program. In addition, more classrooms to accommodate additional Sunday School classes have been built in the original church building.

The congregation is now over 500 strong, and continues to grow. We invite you to be a part of our "Community in Faith"!
